Sustainable Software Delivery combines the expertise of John and Willem, experienced coaches, DevOps and agile practitioners. With backgrounds in Software Development, Operations and Architecture we’ve helped organisations across the whole delivery life cycle.

 

The combination of tech, facilitation and coaching skills means we are well placed, not just to create achievable sustainability goals, but to create momentum and motivation to achieve them, making a positive difference to the environment.

About John 

John is a leadership coach and agile consultant.  As an International Coaching Federation certified coach he helps people to think more  clearly and achieve their goals.  As a consultant he helps organisations learn to become more effective, productive and enjoyable to work in.  

​

John is based in Bristol and loves the outdoors, running and hiking in the wild, especially Dartmoor.  This makes him acutely aware of how precious and fragile these spaces are and the importance of protecting them and our climate.

 

He has broad experience ranges from start-up to enterprise scale, formed in the publishing, telecommunications, commerce, defence and public sector arenas.  John has worked with The Environment Agency, DEFRA and energy companies including Kaluza and OVO.

About Willem 

Willem has been environmentally conscious since he was a kid. Working on reducing his own carbon footprint has proved to be more challenging. However, here, as well as in his 20+ years of extreme programming and agile coaching experience, baby steps work. His approach is doing some research, taking a step, seeing how that works and feels, and then doing the next right thing. There is always more to be done. If you want to go far, you go together. 

 

Willem lives in the cloud - saves CO2 and time from travelling, and is based in Bath, UK. He loves the temperate rainforest around Bath. Its flood zones remind us to limit climate change. Willem helps people see things differently. 

 

Willem likes variety, while remaining a software developer at heart. He has done start-ups (bootstrapped and venture funded), multi-year (semi-)government projects, consulted on the software, process and management of things like dating apps, electron microscopes, and noise measurement. On the sustainability side he has for instance worked  and worldwide positioning of office building lighting refits and with BEIS on CO2 reporting for the Paris Agreement and subsidy simulation for insulation and green heating.
